- The Village Chronicles -

In August of 2006, Benjamin Dean Box made the trek up I35 and moved into an unsuspecting Village apartment with Kendal Scott Haug...the city of Dallas will never be the same. Celebrating Kendal's Birthday

It was Kendal’s birthday last week and we began celebrating right after I received a citation for “ticket evasion”. You see, I stayed at a friend’s house the night before and got a ride to work in the morning. I also got a ride to the train station after work so I didn’t have to purchase a bus ticket, but because of this it wasn’t until I got to the station that I realized I left my wallet in my office at work. I was stranded at the station with no way to pay, but I wasn’t real worried because, naturally, this wasn’t the first time that it has happened. I took the train with no problems, but when I was at about the 5th stop on the DART, the DART security boarded and began checking tickets. I tried a little trick and showed him an old ticket while covering up the date on it but he was not easily fooled. This turned out to be a terrible idea because he now had no faith that I was telling him the truth about anything, including not having any I.D. on me. After making me get off at Pearl Station, calling several other officers to help him, and making me empty out my backpack, he finally just wrote me a $75 ticket based on the information that I gave him.

Back to the celebration, Kendal received a package from his Mom containing the largest rack of ribs I have ever seen. We devoured them while watching The Office, and they were delicious.

Friday night was the best night of celebrating and was also a result of Kendal’s Mom’s appreciation of Kendal. She and Marc took us out to my new favorite restaurant, Fogo De Chao. Here is a picture of its beauty. I would tell you how amazing it was, but I wouldn’t do it as well as these pictures of a few of the meats we enjoyed.

It was a Brazilian all you can eat steak house, and Kendal and I ate the best meat in the world for over 2 hours straight. At one point in time I think we started competing to see who could eat the rarest meat and we may have tied.

The next night we celebrated by going out on the town with a solid group of friends. It started well with a Mexican feast, but our next destination was a dance hall of some sort and they were having an unexpected concert. So we settled on this crazy Indonesian/Egyptian/Indian/Pakistani hookah club that Kendal frequents and it was just alright. Mainly the music was a disappointment, but overall a good time.

Trust me, the pictures of meat do not do the amount of meat eaten between the four of us justice! It was AWESOME !

About This Blog

This is a multi-author blog devoted to the happenings of two bachelors living it up in Big D. We will record the daily nonsense that occurs when 2 life-long friends live together in the same apartment and have no shame, sense of fashion, or chance of meeting a girl in the next 10 years.
